Today @Delprado Sponsors Twitterthon to Help Children at @ProjectLadyBug

Today is an amazing day to help raise awareness & $ to @abolishcancer.

If you ever felt as if the stars could align, then today may just be that day. First, the extravaganza put on by the great folks at Stand Up To Cancer @SU2C takes place at 8PM eastern on September 10^th on major television networks with tons of celebrity involvement. Be sure to check them out.

If that isn’t enough, there is a huge movement occurring on Facebook. Similar to the Facebook push to get Betty White to be a host of Saturday Night Live, there is a new push to encourage Oprah to highlight childhood cancer as part of the last season of her show. At the most recent count, over 9,000 people have “liked” this idea on Facebook in less that a week since it was posted. We truly believe in the power of the people to help abolish this disease- especially for our children.

Today, however, Dina will be known most notably for her Project LadyBug Foundation that pushes to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses. The Project LadyBug Fund strives to help families face the financial and the emotional hardships during their child's treatment to help meet the needs of seriously ill and less fortunate patients in our region. Through improving the quality of life for these children and families during treatment, Project Ladybug hopes to improve outcomes for these patients.

So today, for every follower that @abolishcancer gets on Friday, September 10th, @delprado will donate $1 directly towards @ProjectLadyBug. This is a huge opportunity to raise $ and awareness for a great cause.
