Tuesday, March 23 brings another great opportunity to raise awareness & money to @abolishcancer. For every new follower of @abolishcancer today, @delprado agrees to pay $1 to @VTRelay to help fight cancer. The day starts with 3,161 followers.
It’s the simplest way to help fight cancer, a quick tweet and a click of the follow button, that help in our global fight to end this disease.
Meet John Gallagher. We were introduced to John several months back and from the moment we started talking about working together, it was clear that he is passionate about his business and about helping others. John is the CEO of MAPA Imports, LLC which is a family-owned business that produces and distributes Del Prado Gourmet Nectars. (Check out all the great variety of products that Del Prado offers here).
A key part of John’s business focuses on social responsibility as an organization. Mapa Imports believes all businesses, no matter the size, have an obligation to contribute to charities to help others in need. With that philosophy in mind, it was a natural connection between John (@delprado) and @abolishcancer.
When we discussed who would benefit from today’s sponsorship, one group quickly came to mind, @VTRelay. The Relay For Life at Virginia Tech will take place on April 9, 2010 in Blacksburg, Virginia. While there are many wonderful Relay For Life events and organizations, the students at Virginia Tech have excelled in raising awareness and money to support the American Cancer Society. Last year the group helped contribute over $500,000 during the event.
So today is a great day. Thanks to the generosity of @delprado we will provide more awareness and financial means to not only support the great folks at @VTRelay but to also grow an army of fighters who are dedicated to end this disease, once and for all. Please help enlist others in our global fight to @abolishcancer.
“Power of the People, through Twitter, to @abolishcancer”
Say Mr. D not only is it an honor but our pleasure to be a part of this wonderful day. We hope we can set the standard of our core Moto: Social Responsibility. We might not be a huge company but we have a HUGE Heart. Cheers- @delprado on Twitter
